Panto performers shine limelight on North Mid Charity
North Mid Charity secures partnership with The Warren pantomime group as one of their designated charities for 2023
An amateur drama group with a 70 year history of pantomimes and shows has chosen the chemotherapy day unit at North Mid as a beneficiary of its new season’s charity donations.
The Warren have been performing for more than seven decades and in that time have put on well over 150 pantomimes and shows, all to raise money for local charities. With over 40 members, the amateur drama group is made up of a fantastic team of choreographers, dancers, musicians, actors, singers, costume designers, directors, producers, lighting experts, sound technicians and stage managers who make sure the shows fresh, funny, colourful and exciting.
And this year, the performers have chosen Chemotherapy Day Unit at North Middlesex University Hospital in north London as their beneficiary, to say thanks for treating Susan Tucker-Dawson, one of the group’s key members over the past few years who said:
“I just wanted to say thank you to the Chemotherapy Day Unit for their amazing support during my treatment and on-going treatment at North Mid. They have gone above and beyond- especially whilst I was receiving treatment during the height of the covid-19 pandemic.”
The group will encourage audience members at its performance of Little Red Riding Hood at the Wylllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar to donate to North Mid Charity.
Chairman of The Warren Lynne Tyson explained -
“The Warren are delighted to be supporting the North Mid Charity this year. It’s a charity very close to our hearts especially as one of our cast members Susan Tucker-Dawson has been undergoing treatment at the North Mid Chemo Day Unit for the last few years. The Warren has a long history of supporting local charities and North Mid is such a worthy cause. Our donation will be raised from our 2023 pantomime and musical show - Little Red Riding Hood in January and Clue the Music in May.”
The panto will be performed from Thursday 19 – Sunday 22 January 2023 and tickets can be purchased now from £13.00 online from the Wyllyotts Theatre.
