Website accessibility statement

As part of our merger, our website will close at 23.59 on 31 December 2024.  Our content will be moving to https://www.royalfree.nhs.uk/

This accessibility statement applies to the North Middlesex University Hospital website (www.northmid.nhs.uk)

This website is run by North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • most older PDF documents within the corporate documents page are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • live video streams do not have captions
  • some of our forms within the x-rays and scans page are in Microsoft Word. We are working to make sure all forms on this site are digital.

The cabinet office has published an accessibility report for our website and we know our website has a range of accessibility issues.

The report can be found online. Accessibility report for www.northmid.nhs.uk (accessibility-monitoring.service.gov.uk)

Update: 20 November 2024 — We have submitted a 'Disproportionate Burden Case' to the Cabinet Office which outlines why we feel there are extenuating circumstances related to our merger which mean we cannot justify spending valuable public money on addressing our known outstanding accessibility issues. This is because our website will close at 23.59 on 31 December 2024 and our content will be moving to https://www.royalfree.nhs.uk/ - which has passed all WCAG 2.2 level AA non-content tests.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • a small number of forms that are in Microsoft Word format within the x-rays and scans page.
