North Mid Charity puts the fun in fundraising
The first ever North Mid Charity Comedy Fundraiser played to a packed house on Friday 23 September, as comedy talent, staff and public joined forces to fund more amazing projects for patients, visitors, and employees at the north London NHS trust.
Treading the boards at central London venue 2NorthDown in Kings Cross were were some of London’s most sought-after acts including Jen Ives, Sikisa, Saima Ferdows, Bilal Zafar and Kemah Bob. The brainchild of new charity fundraiser Mete Redif and generously supported by leading lights of the comedy scene, the event is the first time North Mid Charity – the official charity of North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust – has tried fundraising through this means.
Mete said:
“We’re truly grateful to the team 2NorthDown and all the comics who were so willing to support our charity. North Mid Charity supports some amazing projects for patients, staff and the local community around North Mid in Edmonton, and in the current climate especially, we are always looking at how we can have a positive impact on the lives of people we benefit, both through awarding funds and now through fundraising activities too.
“We definitely plan to have more events in future – more comedy nights but also author readings, go-karting, and some sponsored activities. If you have an idea for fundraising, I’m open to hearing it! Even more importantly, come join us in having a great laugh for a great cause!
If you would like to donate your time, money or gifts to other projects at North Mid Charity we would love to hear from you by contacting our fundraising team at 020 8887 2935 or northmid.donations@nhs.net.
