The Breast Team at North Middlesex Hospital recently participated in the London Shine Night Walk, raising an impressive £1,598 to support cancer research. This heartfelt initiative brought together Miss Gahir, Miss Joseph, Miss Swafe, and their colleague Ella Schiavone, who holds a personal connection to the cause. Ella, a valued member of the hospital's administrative team, was recently diagnosed and treated for breast cancer within the same unit.

breastThe Shine Night Walk is a major fundraising event where thousands of participants walk through London’s iconic landmarks, raising vital funds for cancer research and patient support services. For the North Middlesex Breast Team, this walk wasn’t just about fundraising—it symbolized hope, solidarity, and the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

Walking alongside Ella, who has shown incredible resilience in overcoming her battle with breast cancer, was deeply moving. Her decision to walk with us to raise funds embodies the very essence of the teamwork and strength we strive for within our unit. Ella’s courage doesn’t just inspire our patients; it uplifts every one of us as colleagues and friends.

Teamwork is at the heart of our breast unit. We thrive on the unwavering support we give one another, both professionally and personally. This event represented far more than just a fundraiser—it was a testament to the cohesiveness of our team. We continually reach out to each other, ensuring we provide the best possible care for our patients while fostering a positive, compassionate environment for ourselves.

The £1,598 raised by the team will go toward crucial research into breast cancer, enhancing early detection methods, and improving patient care. This contribution will directly support projects aimed at advancing scientific understanding of the disease, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care throughout their treatment and recovery.

The North Middlesex Breast Team remains dedicated to raising awareness, supporting research, and providing compassionate care to all those affected by breast cancer.
