New North Mid medical director named as Dr Victoria Jones

Dr Victoria Jones has been successfully appointed to the role of medical director at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust following a competitive recruitment process.

She has been the interim medical director at North Mid since August 2022 and has been working at the Trust since 2007, having started at the Trust as a paediatric registrar. Prior to becoming medical director, she was North Mid’s deputy medical director for patient safety, and before that was associate medical director. She is an experienced consultant paediatrician and continues to practice clinically.

Dr Victoria Jones, said: “I am honoured and excited to have accepted the role of medical director at North Mid. It has been a privilege to work with such dedicated staff at the Trust and local partners for over 16 years and I am excited to build on this so our local communities get the healthcare they deserve, centred on quality and excellence.”

Dr Nnenna Osuji, chief executive of North Mid, said: “With Vicky, we have a leader truly committed to making sure our services provide outstanding care for local people. I am thrilled she has accepted the role and look forward to building on the improvements she has already spearheaded. I would also like to thank Dr Emma Whicher for her medical leadership since joining North Mid in 2018 and wish her well in her new role at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.”
