Local Primary School Choir Marks NHS 76th Birthday

North Mid welcomed children from St John’s CE Primary School on the 76th Birthday of the NHS as they treated patients and staff to a concert in the atrium.

Under the direction of Ms. Araba Hagen, the teacher and music lead at St John’s, the choir performed a collection of songs including gospel tunes, a Zulu melody, and other songs. In a special highlight, Ms. Hagen delivered a solo performance, supported by the students as a harmonious backing choir.

One standout moment was an original piece composed and performed by a student, showcasing the impressive local talent nurtured at St John’s. Adding a personal touch to the celebration, the students also created a large "Get Well Soon" sign, which they displayed throughout the performance to spread a message of hope and recovery to the patients.

Northmid’s play team ensured that the proceedings ran smoothly and came to welcome and support the young people.

The event exemplified the strong sense of community that North Mid aims to foster with local organisations as part of being an anchor institution.
