Happy International Nurses Day
Today is International Nurses Day and here at North Mid we’re celebrating the resilience, compassion and leadership our nurses have shown throughout the last year.
I’m incredibly proud to be a nurse, but also an extremely proud Chief Nurse. Even in these unexpected circumstances, patient care was at the very core of everything our nurses and healthcare support workers did. They also adapted, working in new ways and in new roles in hospitals, clinics and in the community.
2021 is North Mid’s centenary year and on this International Nurses Day we hope to highlight the progress in nursing practice, focusing on how nurses’ responsibilities and skills have changed over time.
Looking to the future, we launched our nursing strategy earlier this year which sets out our ambitions for the next five years. These ambitions range from professional development to wellbeing to partnerships and collaborations within the community. As we hopefully move on from the pandemic, we look towards a brighter future and the development of nursing as it continues to provide excellent patient care, experience and outcomes.
Thank you to all of our nurses and healthcare support workers in the hospital and in the community. Happy International Nurses Day to you all!
