New North Mid chief executive named as Dr Nnenna Osuji
Dr Nnenna Osuji has been successfully appointed to the role of Chief Executive at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. She is anticipated to take up her new role in summer 2021.
Dr Osuji will join us from her current role as Deputy Chief Executive and Medical Director at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust in south London. An experienced haematologist, she will continue as a clinician when she takes up her new role.
Chair of North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust Cedi Frederick said:
“I am delighted to be able to confirm that we have appointed Dr Osuji as our new Chief Executive of North Mid. Our recruitment process was rigorous, as is absolutely right for a post of this importance, and involved feedback from stakeholders and partners representing a wide range of voices in our community.
“Nnenna’s strong experience as a leader and clinician will bring significant strengths to North Mid, and I would be pleased if you would join me in extending her a warm north London welcome, and a commitment to investing even further in our developing our productive relationships with local and regional partners, patients, and local people.”
Dr Osuji said:
“I am thrilled to have accepted the role of Chief Executive at North Mid. Although it is hard to leave Croydon and South West London, and the phenomenal people I have come to know, lead and serve over the past 16 years, I am delighted to join my soon-to-be new family at team NorthMid as part of the North Central London system. I am thankful for all that Croydon has given me over the years, forging strength and unity and a strong sense of civic leadership. These memories will stay with me always.
“It is an incredible privilege to join the local North Mid community, amazing staff, patients and partners to take forward the ambitious plans for the Trust, building on the foundations laid by Maria Kane and continued by Andy Heeps towards providing outstanding care to local people. It is particularly exciting as we embark on a new chapter starting with a centenary year, which gives opportunity to celebrate the vibrant and exciting history and diversity of North Mid as a landmark within Enfield and Haringey.
“I look forward to jointly leading the charge in cementing North Mid as a pivotal partner in the local and wider health and care system and to championing meaningful improvements for our people of Enfield and Haringey.”
