North Mid celebrates Overseas NHS Healthcare Workers Day with unveiling of NHS Pastoral Care Quality Award – international nurses and midwives
Recruitment of Internationally Educated Nurses and Midwives (IENMs) has been a recruitment pipeline at North Mid from 2019. To date, over 300 nurses and midwives have been welcomed to Team North Mid.
We are pleased to ann]ounce that North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust was awarded the NHS Pastoral Care Quality Award in October 2023 .
The accreditation was in recognition of the Trust’s work in international recruitment and commitment to providing high-quality pastoral care to IENMs during recruitment process and their employment.
The submission of evidence to achieve the award was led by NMAHP head of education, professional development and workforce Kit Oriakhi in collaboration with Brendalee Wiggins, OSCE preparation lead practice educator, and the workforce resourcing team in the human resources directorate,
The teams continue to collaborate to ensure the recruitment ,transition and embedding IENMs at North Mid is done through a comprehensive package of professional and personal support .
IENMs remain a vital part of the North Mid workforce. As a Trust, we will continue to strengthen processes that will enhance their recruitment and most importantly their retention as part of Team North Mid.
